Big Brothers Big Sisters of Shawano County

520 N Broadway St. Suite 220
Green Bay, Wisconsin 54303

Big Brothers Big Sisters began offering program services in Shawano County in October of 2014. Our mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported 1-to-1 relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. We are part of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Wisconsin, a donor and volunteer supported non-profit organization that has been professionally matching area youth with volunteers since 1972. Locally we have both community-based and site-based volunteer opportunities. Our site-based programs at area elementary schools allow for high school students to volunteer as a Big Brother or Big Sister. We hold various fundraisers to raise money locally to support matches in Shawano County. We have a council of local community members who help plan and execute fundraising activities, including our signature event, Bowl for Kids' Sake. We are also partnered with the Screamin' Head Buzz and assist in the Numb Nutzz Jamboree held annually at Cecil Bay Cove in February. Opportunity to Volunteer

We are always looking for adults and high school students to mentor children! Our "Bigs" often report they feel like they're benefitting as much or even more than their Littles! Volunteers will need to commit to a minimum of one year, meeting 2-4 times per month for 45 minutes or more. The enrollment process consists of filling out an application which allows our agency to do a background check and driving records check for adults looking to be part of our community-based program. Please call or email to learn more!
